Definitions

Transportable Construction = that can be transported and moved on the campsite. It must keep its means of mobility in working order (wheels and drawbars).

Construction Demontable = a shelter that has been designed to be disassembled, in order to allow for reversibility of the site. It is the design of the shelter that determines whether it can be dismantled. Counter-example: a tree house can be dismantled but was not designed as such. It is therefore considered fixed.

Construction Fixed / anchored to the ground = implies the presence of concrete or durable dunnage. As soon as concrete is used to stabilize the structure of the accommodation, either by means of a slab or concrete piles, the accommodation is considered fixed. Concrete blocks on which the axle of towable caravans and mobile homes (residential caravans) rests are not taken into account.

The Coordinating Council is sovereign to act on all matters addressed in this charter. Explicit approval is required for any installation of 1 month or more, regardless of type.

For everyone

  • We are moving towards a housing that is not heated with hydrocarbons. We prefer to use wood or electricity.
  • We are moving towards the use of dry toilets.
  • We compost the vegetable waste on the sites provided for this purpose.
  • We sort our waste (household waste, PMC, glass, paper/cardboard).
  • We tend towards thehe best possible insulation to reduce our ecological footprint. Except for some exceptions, the windows are made of wood and double glazed, the insulation of the walls and roof is min. 3 cm. The floor is insulated with OSB boards of minimum 18mm.
  • We give priority to natural wood without glue or treatment, as far as possible, a good insulation of 8cm of wood wool can make serious savings for heating

The surface of each dwelling on the ground does not exceed 30% of the total cadastral area of the parcel and does not exceed 40 m2 on the ground and does not  does not exceed 4m20 above the ground

According to the regulations in force, only one dwelling may be placed on each site, with the temporary exception of a temporary tent.

Decks are included in the 30% of area not to be exceeded. Removable/retractable awnings are not.

For constructions  transportable

Preference is given to atypical, self-built and/or customized vehicles.

Standard caravans and motorhomes are welcome for short stays (a few days or a few weeks), as a way of discovering the place.

The height does not exceed 4m20.

Any fluid losses are collected in a collection tray.

This collection tank is installed as a preventive measure, even if there is no leakage. The fluids to be considered are for example engine oil, deck oil, coolant.

For the renovation of old residential caravans we offer the following cladding and insulation options (see above)

The cladding is made of 18mm wood at the front and back of the house with, for the cottages, tile parapets on the front.

The insulation is min. 3 cm

The frames are made of wood and double glazed

The insulation of the floor is done with OSB plates of minimum 18mm

The roof will preferably be double-panel

For constructions  movable:

The same as the previous ones + ...

The exterior cladding of the house is made of natural material.

The historical or architectural interest of a habitat may justify an exemption to this rule.

For constructions  anchored to the ground:

The same as the previous ones + ...

Insofar as the percentage of fixed installations is limited by the regulations, the construction will be approved on the basis of a file describing the intention, the design and the techniques implemented. This step does not exempt the possible obligation to obtain the approval of the urban planning services of the municipality of Chimay.

Concerning the delimitation of parcels

An inspiration book of fence types and tree variety types to delimit the parcels is under study. In any case, the wire fences  are to be removed or masked in natural material as a matter of urgency.

Concerning the garden shed

According to the regulations, only one model of storage shelter is authorized per tourist campground and only one storage shelter is authorized per site. It must meet a series of standards.

Its dimensions: H: 2m25; W: 1m80; L: 2m20

Floor space: 4m²Floor space: 2×2,4m

The whole is built entirely of wood

The roof is protected by panels in imitation tiles, black if those of the large cottage are black and red if those of the large cottage are red

The door is sliding (space saving)
